Another week another commission completed. We received this Dystopian Wars commission just prior to the release of the new 2.0 version of the game. This Japanese Fleet is to complement the starter box set when released (we have just received the Japanese fleet from that box set now).

I’ve finally had the chance to see a Heldrake up and close – then had the pleasure of painting it. As you can tell I don’t get many 40k games in so I’ve been spared the wraith of this little guy.
Assembly of the Heldrake was a little difficult as you had to be careful not to break any of the multitude of spiky bits off. The client wanted the default GW studio color scheme of black and gold. The below image is the model painted to our ‘Standard Quality’:

We recently completed a Reaper miniature from the PAthfinder range – the Shoanti Barbarian. The miniature was to be painted to high quality and was to have a more tanned skinned. Other than that we could choose the rest of the scheme.

Another commission completed. Refreshingly it has been for the Infinity range of miniatures, in particular the Aleph forces. I did enjoy painting these miniatures and the level of details was amazing. They are true 28mm rather than the heroic scale of Warhammer or Warmachine. Their scaling and proportions are perfect and they don’t suffer from large hands and large heads like their heroic counterparts.

More Khador miniatures have been painted up for the Khador army commission. We’re currently getting the miniature in batches as each batch takes a while to paint due to the display quality paint work.

Some more Khador Winter Guard characters & solos have been painted up for the large Khador commission that we’re working on. Several weeks back we painted the Winter Guard detachment, this time round we painted up their Standard Bearer, Officer and Kovnik Grigorovich. Also the bases of all the miniatures had their front arcs painted. As with all the miniatures in the army, these were all painted to Display quality and were all based with crushed glass for the snow effect.

Way back last year I backed a Kickstarter project which was to deliver a miniature game from a childhood cartoon – Robotech RPG Tactics. Fast forward nearly a year later still with no delivery of anything in sight, I went ahead and got myself some convention exclusive miniatures that the company had released. The two miniatures were a Max Sterling Veritech and a Miriya Female battlearmour. Just for something different (and since I havn’t painted a mech in ages), I painted the Max Sterling miniature in his typical blue colour scheme.

The next wave of Imperial Fist Space Marines have been completed. This wave also included the fortification Firestorm Redoubt. There were three centurions included in this force. They were painted in the standard Imperial Fist manner (see here for the Imperial Fist Article). Their Graviton weapons were given a blue […]

As part of an ongoing Warmachine Khador force commission, these Khador Winterguard were painted up to Display standard. The bases were a grey granite base with snow covering. The snow covering was created by using Secret Weapon crush glass. The coats of the miniatures were also dusted with a white pigment powder to give the impression that snow has been kicked up on the miniatures.
