During the Christmas holidays, for a present I gave myself a day off painting commissions and decided to finish off my Prussian fleet. Honestly I have a few more ships like a carrier and the fighter crafts but I wasn’t worried about them for the moment, I just wanted to get the starter fleet box set and the Dreadnought completed. Well the day was well spent and all the ships were completed.

The client wanted the miniatures to be close […]

We’ve been slowly ploughing our way through a client’s Dreadfleet commission. I must admint that Dreadfleet is one of those commissions that really puts commission painter to the test. Normally if you get a commission for several miniatures, the miniatures share some sort of similiarities. Say for example you get 2 squads of Ultramarine Space Marines, in this case you know there is going to be alot of blue armour and as such you can set up a production line and paint all the armour before focusing on each miniature themselves…

Finally the Grey Knight force has been completed. We followed the client’s request to make the color scheme the same as the Games Workshop Studio one. All the swords were done as power weapons – they were all colored dark blue blended through to white. The metal of the armour was kept as a metallic light color with very little darker shades applied, this would allow their bolter and other dark metals to really stand out against the armour. The crimson red really stands out nicely against the metal…
