I’ve finally completed an ambitious Level 4 Quality commission that’s been dominating my painting schedule – a full Pan Oceana Military Order force from Infinity, consisting of 15 meticulously painted miniatures that truly represent the elite nature of this futuristic military organisation.
This project was all about bringing the technological prowess and martial discipline of the Military Order to life through Level 4 quality painting. Each miniature was treated as a centerpiece character, receiving the detailed attention that this service level demands – perfect for a force where every model plays a crucial role on the battlefield.

Object Source Lighting:
One of the standout features of this commission was the extensive use of object source lighting on the energy swords throughout the force. Each blade was painted with a distinctive green glow that required the detailed OSL treatment that Level 4 Quality is known for. The green energy effect was carefully reflected on surrounding armour plates, faces, and nearby surfaces, creating realistic light interaction that brings these futuristic weapons to life. The subtle colour transitions and reflected light patterns really showcase what separates Level 4 from lower-quality tiers.
Custom Basing
Every miniature in the force was mounted on custom bases that tell the story of urban warfare in Infinity’s future setting. These bases feature detailed future street scenes complete with scattered debris and small crushed cola cans – little details that add narrative depth and ground the models in their sci-fi urban environment. The weathered concrete, scattered trash, and worn surfaces help create a cohesive battlefield aesthetic that complements the high-tech military aesthetic of the models themselves.
Level 4 Difference
Each miniature received the full Level 4 treatment: professional assembly, comprehensive undercoating, 3-5 layers of shadows and highlights for smooth colour transitions, detailed edge work on all hard surfaces, and meticulous attention to facial features and small details. The weathering effects tell the story of active military service, while the protective matte varnish ensures these models will withstand regular gaming sessions.
The Pan Oceana Military Order represents some of Infinity’s most detailed and characterful miniatures, and this commission really allowed me to showcase what Level 4 Quality can achieve. From the intricate armour details to the glowing energy weapons and immersive custom bases, every element was crafted to create a force that’s as impressive on display as it is effective on the tabletop.
