Imperial Knight

Finally I got to paint one of these awesome Imperial Knights from the Warhammer 40k universe. I’ve been wanting to get one of these for a while but instead those funds keep getting diverted to out of production games instead (I’ll show you my stash soon).

Heldrake

I’ve finally had the chance to see a Heldrake up and close – then had the pleasure of painting it. As you can tell I don’t get many 40k games in so I’ve been spared the wraith of this little guy.

Assembly of the Heldrake was a little difficult as you had to be careful not to break any of the multitude of spiky bits off. The client wanted the default GW studio color scheme of black and gold. The below image is the model painted to our ‘Standard Quality’:

Imperial Fist heavy weapons and Fortification

The next wave of Imperial Fist Space Marines have been completed. This wave also included the fortification Firestorm Redoubt. There were three centurions included in this force. They were painted in the standard Imperial Fist manner (see here for the Imperial Fist Article). Their Graviton weapons were given a blue […]

Warhammer 40k 25th Anniversary Model

It’s not often that I actually get time to paint something for myself let alone anything for my armies. One of the downsides of commission painting is that you often don’t feel like painting when it comes to your own miniatures. In fact i’ve been playing a lot of Fantasy Flight Games X-Wing as its a enjoyable game but everything is already painted (pretty nicely for machine painting).

Pedro Kantor

Chapter Master Pedro Kantor of the Crimson Fists

Some more Crimson Fists to paint, this time it’s Pedro Kantor. I must admit that i’m starting to enjoy painting the dark blues and the off set crimson colours. Might have to swap my Ultramarines over to the Crimson Fists (I still have that option as I haven’t started painting any of my 40k armies).

Tau Hammerhead

Tau Hammerhead

Just completed a Tau hammerhead painted to our Standard Quality for our Facebook gift voucher winner. The client wanted them painted to a custom colour scheme of greys with the Tau camouflage. The Sept writing had to be a light green colour and the engines and weaponry to be a […]

Weekly Updates

Whats on the painting table

Well lots of painting has been going on in the past week. We had completed painting some Dungeon Quest miniatures, a Khador miniature as well as a Dryad – watch out for these posts this week. Here is what we’re currently working on.

Ultramarine Drop Pod
Showcase

Ultramarine Drop Pod

A nice and simple commission. The old faithful Space Marine drop pod. I have done so many of these that the painting time has become a very quick. Originally I started painting Drop Pods (in fact all vehicles) with a paint brush and using weathering powders from Secret Weapon for soot and blast markings. Now days I’ve upgraded wot the trust airbrush. The Airbrush techniques are not necessarily better then using weathering powders for weathering, but it is a lot quicker.

Space Hulk

Space Hulk 3rd Edition

We were recently commissioned by a client to complete several commissions at our new Tabletop Quality paint level. Both our tabletop artists Chris and Lee each took a commission each.

Lee took the Space Hulk commission. The instructions for these miniatures were to follow the Space Hulk imagery in the game manuals.

Ferrus Manus
Showcase

Ferrus Manus, Primarch of the Iron Hands Space Marine Legion

I recently had the opportunity to paint up a Primarch from Forge World for a client. I myself don’t own any of the miniatures (yet) and do intend to get a whole stack of them as they’re released, but until then I could’nt wait to see what type of quality these miniatures would be like.
