Miniature Painting Tutorials and Commission Work 
This week saw the completion of another Dystopian Wars commission. Again this was a continuation of a previous Japanese Dystopian Wars fleet. Most of the warships in this commission came from the Dystopian Wars 2nd edition starter box set.
The fleet included the warships, the water base, some merchant ships, a whole stack of counters and even some islands. Everything was magnetised including the small little cranes and cargo boxes for the merchant ships.
Well this was a nice commission to paint. Not only was there a variety of miniatures from different races but also a variety of painting quality styles. We have a Chaos Sorcerer painted to Display quality, several Chaos Spawns painted to standard quality and a Space Marine librarian painted to standard quality.
Recently I’ve had a resurgent interest in Games Workshop now defunct specialist games lines. In particular Blood bowl. Back in the day I never really had time to get into the game and really didn’t have too many people around me that played.
Just finished some more Space Wolves. This commission contained lots and lots of characters models. There were the newer Finecast (how I hate this material!!!) and white metal miniatures. Finally I got to paint one of these awesome Imperial Knights from the Warhammer 40k universe. I’ve been wanting to get one of these for a while but instead those funds keep getting diverted to out of production games instead (I’ll show you my stash soon).
Well finally the Warmachine Cygnar army has been completed. The army was commisisoned to be painted to tabletop quality by our artist Lee.
There was a considerable amount of miniatures involved here, but as you can see Lee was able to produce a very nice tabletop quality which you can see below in a good time frame.
We’ve had a very busy past several weeks, so i’ve not had time to put up as many posts as I would like. So I’ll give an update as to what we have done and whats on our plate at the moment.
Another week another commission completed. We received this Dystopian Wars commission just prior to the release of the new 2.0 version of the game. This Japanese Fleet is to complement the starter box set when released (we have just received the Japanese fleet from that box set now).
With the release of Relic: Nemesis from Fantasy Flight Games and its subsequent arrival at stores now, we are offering a special for its commission painting during the month of June.
Normally to paint all 6 busts included in the game to our Standard quality, it would cost $120. For this commission special we are charging $60 for the full set.
I’ve finally had the chance to see a Heldrake up and close – then had the pleasure of painting it. As you can tell I don’t get many 40k games in so I’ve been spared the wraith of this little guy.
Assembly of the Heldrake was a little difficult as you had to be careful not to break any of the multitude of spiky bits off. The client wanted the default GW studio color scheme of black and gold. The below image is the model painted to our ‘Standard Quality’:
