I was commissioned to paint more Lord of the Rings miniatures for a client’s existing army. This particualar batch was unique in that it contained a variety of different painting levels, ranging from level 3 to level 4.
This commission included many of the key characters from the Lord of the Rings universe. These were all painted to a level 3 quality, which is a good level of detail and realism. I spent hours carefully applying layers of paint to ensure that each miniature had a unique look and feel that matched the character’s personality and background.
Level 3
However, there was one exception to this batch – Aragorn, the King. As a key character in the story, the client wanted Aragorn to stand out from the rest of the miniatures. As a result, I painted him to a level 4 quality, which is a higher level of detail and realism. This involved using additional techniques, such as layering and blending, to create a more realistic sense of depth and texture on the miniature.
Level 4
Despite the challenges of painting to different levels, I was thrilled with the end result. The characters looked fantastic and fit in seamlessly with the client’s existing army. I was particularly proud of Aragorn, who was a true standout piece in the collection.
