Today I’m sharing something that slipped through the cracks of my usual posting schedule. While organising my project archives, I discovered these completed Aeldari forces that I somehow forgot to showcase when they were finished a while back.
The Commission
This project featured a compact yet versatile Aeldari force consisting of:
- A Guardian squad, the defenders of the Craftworlds
- A vibrant Harlequin squad, bringing their deadly dance to the battlefield
- A Harlequin Starweaver transport, allowing the troupe to strike where least expected
All units were completed to our Level 3 quality standard, which includes full highlighting, detailed bases, and special attention to the intricate Aeldari designs and patterns that make these models so distinctive.
The Painting Process
For the Guardians, the client wanted a certain colour scheme to match their craftworld scheme featuring deep crimson armor plates contrasted with bone-colored helmets and accents. The weapons were painted in a dark metallic tone with bright green energy elements to provide visual interest and focal points across the squad.
The Harlequins showcase the signature diamond patterns in vibrant purples, blues, and oranges that this troupe is known for. Each performer features a unique color distribution while maintaining the cohesive purple and blue theme across the unit. Their masks received special attention with striking white faces that stand out dramatically against their colorful attire.
The Starweaver continues the troupe’s color scheme with a predominantly bone coloured hull accented with the same blues and oranges found on the Harlequins themselves. The vehicle features clean panel highlighting and subtle weathering effects to suggest it’s a well-maintained but battle-tested transport.
Level 3 Quality Explained
For those unfamiliar with our tiered painting service, Level 3 quality includes:
- Multiple layers of highlighting on all surfaces
- Refined edge highlighting on armor plates and weapons
- Carefully blended transitions on larger surface areas
- Detailed bases with multiple texture elements
